Hi there, I’m Carolyn, a nutritional medicine practitioner who understands the vital role fresh food and the right nutrition plays in not only improving our lives, but also managing both physical and mental health issues.
In 2018, I was doing the busy mum thing, raising three kids along with a loveable Labrador, working in finance and juggling all the balls, when a breast cancer diagnosis came out of the blue. The news prompted me to rethink my own work, health and life goals.
As the daughter of a GP, I’d always been interested in health, and my Italian heritage meant fresh nutritious food was a central part of our family life, from homegrown vegetables to freshly laid eggs. My cancer diagnosis deepened that appreciation of how balanced nutrition can not only boost wellbeing but impact our health outcomes. In my case, I was able to experience first-hand how the right nutrition, targeted supplements and exercise played a vital role in supporting my cancer treatments and recovery.
Once through the medical therapies, I retrained as a nutritional medicine practitioner because I wanted to deepen my knowledge of nutrition and help others improve their immediate health needs and long-term well-being. I will always use the latest scientific research to underpin my treatments, and to help you optimise your health.
If a doctor has told you you’re at risk of the following conditions, we can work together to help give you the best chance of better health. These are just a few of the health conditions I can help you with.
• heart disease • stroke risk • high blood pressure (hypertension)
• insulin resistance including type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes
• obesity • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• anxiety • low mood / depressive symptoms • chronic stress
• women’s health incl PCOS, fertility & post-natal health
• menopausal & peri-menopausal symptoms
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) including Crohn’s disease & ulcerative colitis
• low immunity (eg: frequent colds/flu’s or slow wound healing)
• thyroid issues including Hashimoto’s disease • rheumatoid arthritis
Those three kids are now young adults, and life is still full, so I appreciate how busy the days can be. I believe in keeping your treatment plan as simple, realistic and achievable as possible. Using clinical nutrition principles and a holistic approach, I aim to empower my clients to adopt nutritional and lifestyle changes to achieve their own measurable health goals.
If you’re unsure if seeing a nutritional medicine practitioner could benefit you, call, email or shoot me a message. I’m available to discuss any of your health concerns.
